Identify items that need to be easily accessible and decide where important documents, cash, etc., will be located. Consider donating items you don't need to take with you and locate nearby donation centers. Select and hire a desired moving company if applicable, and communicate your expectations clearly. Obtain desired moving containers and protection, and label your belongings with organization in mind. Begin moving items into storage. 30 Days Before Move Remove feet from and disassemble furniture. Ensure that belongings are packed securely with appropriate materials. Move remaining items into storage. During the Move Embrace change and keep in contact with your moving team. Take all the moments you need amid the chaos to collect yourself and refocus. By maintaining an upbeat attitude, you will start to see that your positivity becomes contiguous to those around you! This includes sturdy boxes, plastic wrap, packing tape, etc. It’s very important that your belongings are packed with the proper protection since they may shift while in transit. Tip #2: Find Some Help Are you planning to pack and load our moving truck all by yourself? Your truck reservation slot is only for four hours! You need some help! While planning your move, ask friends and family if they can help load and unload. It is never a good idea to lift and carry heavy furniture, boxes, and other items by yourself. Tip #3: Disassemble Your Furniture Furniture can take up a lot of unnecessary space. Trust us, we would know. To save yourself some room and time in the moving process, disassemble as much of your furniture as possible before your move-in day. How to Pack for Your Storage Unit Let’s get started!Here are the seven steps you need to take to get your stuff packed up successfully: #1: Make a Checklist Make a list and check it twice! Keeping a checklist handy helps you make sure you not to forget to pack something. This is especially true if some of your belongings need to go into your storage unit, while others need to go somewhere else.As you get things packed, check them off your list and keep the list as long as you have your storage unit. You may forget something is there after a while! #2: Get the Right Boxes Get an assortment of boxes to fit everything you want to store.
