We stored our entire home her for about six months. Upon signing a lease with Modern Storage, the manager explained to me that they use special locks here and that you have to buy them at Modern Storage. I was given the option to get one for free if I left a five-star review before even starting my storage there or buy one for $15. I bought the lock since I don't leave incentivized reviews. Anyways, when we had our stuff moved from Modern Storage and to our new home, I was required to return the lock I bought without a refund.
We didn't have any issues while our stuff was stored there, and the facility is super clean! I went to check on our stuff sometime in late July/ early August, and it was extremely hot in there. I could barely move stuff around our unit without getting extremely hot. I'm not sure if they were having issues with their air conditioning, or if that's just the temperature they keep the units during the summer. Regardless, people are paying for climate-controlled storage and that seemed rather ridiculous.“
